Building a Payment Ecosystem for the 21st Century: A Fireside Chat with PayPal

In 2023, PayPal entered the stablecoin market with the launch of PYUSD, an open and programmable 1:1 backed US-dollar digital asset. PayPal designed PYUSD explicitly for payments, drawing on its 25 year history and expertise in commerce and trusted transactions. In the year that followed, the company has expanded PYUSD acceptance, use cases, and functionality to build a payments network with the characteristics and features that are expected from a 21^st century payment network.
