Session summary

What ISBE is: it is presented as a set of networks that turns blockchain into an agile and secure tool, with regulatory compliance by design, carbon neutral and ready to deploy applications, facilitating collaboration between public and private actors.

Why it was created: the Community of Madrid explains that ISBE responds to the need for a sovereign, trusted infrastructure for Spain to deploy interoperable services, conceiving web3 as a public policy to make government more agile and efficient.

Alastria's role: as the national association of web3 companies (created by large Spanish firms), Alastria brings the ecosystem's momentum and its networks, in a public-private project that other regions are already joining.

Trust and interoperability: it stresses that the key is institutional trust and legal certainty, with interoperability with EBSI and Latin America, and work with the CNMV and the Bank of Spain on a “financial network.”

Value and future: for SMEs and startups, ISBE lowers the upfront infrastructure cost and brings trust; for government, it promises real interoperability, traceability and efficiency (for example, faster “wallet-to-wallet” subsidies). The mid-term vision is to add new actors and meaningful use cases, with the ambition to be a European reference (Asturias' incorporation is cited as upcoming, according to the talk).
